We’re encouraging Malaysians to make their own feature film in the space of 2 months!

1. Open to all citizens and residents of Malaysia.
2. The film has to be shot entirely in Malaysia.
3. No restriction on genre or content, but the film should somehow reflect “the times we live in” and be at least 70min long.
4. No restriction on language, but films not in English will require English subtitles.
5. We encourage producers to apply for SPP and comply with the relevant Finas requirements, especially if they plan to screen in Malaysian cinemas or TV screens.
6. If you don’t plan to screen in Malaysian cinemas or TV screens, knock yourself out! Don’t give a single thought to censorship, either.
7. All entries (including the winner) belong exclusively to the creator. If you want Kuman Pictures to become your distributor, we can discuss that separately.
8. You’re free to spend as little or as much as you want on the film. Aside from the prize of RM5,000, you may sell it anywhere (since you own the rights) without involving Kuman Pictures in any way.
9. Kuman Pictures just asks to show the winning film in a private screening where we invite some friends.
10. Once the film is done, email us a private viewing link to kumanpictures@gmail.com by 15 August 2020.
